I already have V1 and V4 light bars, I bought two of these base kits and two extensions, I attached two extensions to one base kit for a total of 12 feet for a round window . , another basic kit replaces the V4 on the chimney. Here's my take: Good: Installation was easy. Worked great with Homekit and iConnectHue Extensions worked great. They increased the length of the three simultaneously supported colors. The coolest thing is that each color had transitions between them. For example, red next to blue had purple in between. They are therefore able to display more than three colors at the same time. They are brighter than V4 but that depends on the color. White and red are brighter, while blue and especially green are even brighter. The colors are great and it does what it's supposed to. So-so: The LEDs are located under a translucent cover. They're good, but if you like the "shiny" look of the LEDs in previous Hue light strips, you won't get this. The translucent finish adds thickness and is noticeably whiter than the V4. We put one on the fireplace, we never noticed the V4 strip when it was off. This one appears due to the fact that it is thicker and whiter. It's not a big deal as we have some stuff in front of him in multiple places and for us it's only noticeable when you're taller. don't lose them). When you put them together and lift them off the table, they will fall apart if you don't balance them. This is only a problem if you need to connect them before installation. The Bad: You can ONLY MANUALLY control the three color zones, currently there is NO way to animate them! The Hue app can't do that and iConnectHue can't because Philips removed that feature from the API! I hope he returns soon. So unless you want to manually set three colors every time, stick with one color for now. Pretty expensive for a solid color stripe! Error The picture of the connector on the extension box is wrong and so printed on the box itself! Both of my expansions show a box with 6 pin connectors, they are actually 4 pin as described online. So Philips misprinted the box! I mention this because I didn't order them, thinking they might be the wrong product, others have done the same. Revain uses the spelling Muticolor instead of Multicolor for both products.
