Review on 🏠 Kaytee My First Home 30 X 18 Multilevel Exotics: Perfect Habitat for Small Pets by Melissa Parker

I used this cage for two female moderate rats and it took them maybe 3 or 4 months to gnaw a hole big enough to get out. I saw the corners start to bite but thought I had time to find a fix as the holes got bigger but they decided to go all in overnight and when I woke up they were out of the cage . I was lucky enough to have a room just for them and to have my door closed, but I could very well lose my girls forever because of this product. It could serve as a temporary home or for animals that don't chew, but I had other chews in there and they still preferred to chew on the plastic walls and run away. Cleaning is also a bit painful. You don't know how far you want the top of the cage to open until you buy one. The tabs are a little difficult to click and re-click, and when dirty, urine/garbage/food can fly all over the place if they click out of place when removed. I ended up having to buy a tier from Critter Nation (that's about half the price on eBay) to replace it, so I invested over $100 here for less than half a year with reasonable results. The cage is almost good, but if they had added bars around the tub to prevent rodents from escaping and/or used a stronger material for the tub itself and/or added extra access to the 'roof' , probably would have been Would have liked 4 or 5 stars. In its current form this cage was downright a nuisance to me - I paid good money for a product that ended up only stressing me out and putting my girls at risk. Good things: I will say that I liked the deep bath as bedding. The tub was easy to clean and was quite roomy. Having a few protrusions came in handy for my rats, and the 1/2 inch spacing between the bars is fine because they won't get out that way, but that's debatable because they found another way. The volume of the cage is durable and offers enough space for my rat to have fun. Again, this could have received a higher rating, but I think it's generous of me to even give two stars if your product has a flaw that could result in your pets being killed through no fault of the owner.
