I love to cook and grew up in a family that loved All Clad. So when I unpacked it, I was very disappointed and found that there were all sorts of small bumps on the black ceramic insert. It almost looked like it was covered with small pieces of cardboard. I thought well this is All Clad I'm sure they have a fix for this cumbersome product and called warranty service. The woman who answered seemed like I interrupted her day with my call. She told me the earliest she could send them was six months and only if they agreed it was imperfect enough. Wow! She was absolutely unforgiving. So I returned it and ordered another one. It still had some of those flaws, but it was good. What surprised me this time was that the metal case got very hot. We did this so the kids could treat themselves to macaroni and cheese at an upcoming party, but they were going to get burned. The only thing that makes this product attractive is the brand name and the fact that it is beautiful. In short, with this product, form is more important than function.
