Review on K-Slim Single Serve Coffee Maker by Keurig: K-Cup Pod Brewer with 8 to 12 oz. Brew Sizes in White by Janelle Love

K-Slim: successful worktop renovation!

I don't normally write reviews, especially for something as trivial as a coffee maker, but it's been an interesting journey. I had an old Keurig B55 for comparison, which most closely resembles the "classic" model they currently offer. Probably lasted 11 years, it finally died. Up to this point, this part of my counter has been primarily a coffee station, forcing me to cook everything in the kitchen to the right of the stove and keep the caffeine shrine clean. I was blown away by all the options in the Keurig line. It's almost dizzying and makes it almost impossible to decide. A cursory googling turned up over 60 models, most of which are still sold. Do I need 5 cup sizes (5-14 oz)? How about a "strong" setting? Is it worth it? Screen? Or a timer? Or a big tank? What if there is no tank? Seriously, the paradox of choice here is maddening. Since my previous model came from a "tested" manufacturer, I decided on the K200 model. This one is about 3 inches smaller than my previous maker, so that was a nice touch. Unfortunately, he had a few issues that I just couldn't handle. - The tank is U-shaped and, frankly, it is very inconvenient to negotiate with it. and taking away the perspective.Especially if it's under a cupboard and like me you want to refill from the water dispenser in the fridge.- The coffee just wasn't hot enough. but it was significantly less hot than I was used to - No auto shut off. Serious. I thought it was the base of the coffee maker. a scant second. Enter K-Slim. I was skeptical because the reviews, pun intended, weren't that hot. But the price was right, and I liked the idea of a coffee maker less than five inches wide on my countertop. This model only has 3 cup sizes but the same 40oz tank as the K200. In addition, it is a simple rectangular design. n that I can move around in my fridge without any problems. Having the extra counter space was such a nice perk. But other than that, the coffee is hot and the machine has been reliable so far. What I like: - Coffee (Caza Trail Cona Blend) is just as hot and tastes just as good, maybe even stronger than my old model - Auto Shut Off! The device switches off 5 minutes after the last brewing process. It may seem aggressive, but: - Very fast water heating time. I was really amazed. It only took a minute or two from shutdown to coffee (ee) so no clock/timer function was needed. - Easy/obvious to use and I really like the "level" in the K-cup hole. For some reason everyone else was at an angle. - Surprisingly small size for a countertop. What I don't like: - Maybe a cup size smaller? But that's all. So far very happy with this device. I hope it will last me as long as the previous one.
