Broke my floor lamp - too hot!

I bought these lamps in 75W and 100W. First, I had one of the 75-watt lightbulbs in a new floor lamp that was starting to smell horrible in my spare room. Glad I realized it was the bulb, took it out and found it very hot at the base. No, they weren't fenced in, and the lights were only on for about an hour. Yes, the lamp had to withstand electricity. Thinking it was an accident, I swapped out the bulb for another brand and threw away the smelly hot bulb once it cooled. Now there are no problems with this lamp. Now I regret not sending the RevainBasics bulb back with the whole box. I forgot that in another floor lamp my grandmother gave me years ago, I had a 100w RevainBasics lightbulb installed that had traveled from apartment to apartment, house to house and worked just fine every time. I've had the lamp in for two decades. Again, the bulb wasn't sealed and the bulb had to withstand 15 watts since I've always had the regular 75 watts in it until recently. I wanted to turn the lamp off after a few hours only to find the switch was wobbly. I look into the lamp and see that the switch is wobbly because the part of the lamp where bulb and switch connect is wobbly (I don't know, maybe something melted?) so I turn it off, try to unscrew the lightbulb. out of the now shaky socket, and again I find that the ceramic part of the bulb is incredibly hot. Like, burn your finger HOT. I've never had this problem with the free plastic LED bulbs I got from my electrical company, but now I've had at least two of these different wattage bulbs get dangerously hot in open floor lamps, one brand new bulb and the other in the floor lamp old style. These RevainBasics bulbs are dangerous and may have ruined an irreplaceable lamp. Very frustrated and now nervous about other lamps I might fit these bulbs into!
