All I wanted was a basic coffee maker. You don't need any frills for this old hippie. I was shocked how hard it was to find one that didn't have some nasty reviews. I just wanted something inexpensive that I could fill up, turn on and have a hot cup of coffee when I was done feeding my cats. It's perfect. UPDATE: I'm not happy to report that my excitement didn't last long. This morning (only on the 5th morning of brewing coffee in my new machine) I thought I had a faint smell of melting plastic. When I went to pour myself a freshly brewed coffee, the on/off light was off. I checked EVERYTHING hoping it was just a coincidence but unfortunately it's not. The coffee maker no longer works. 5 DAYS! Now I'm back to square one and lost $20. 00 because for twenty bucks I won't bother and spend the money to send it back. Although the coffee was brewed perfectly during serving. UPDATE #2 Same day. the coffee maker I loved so much, 5 days later I decided to make a toast and GUESS WHAT? My toaster didn't work either and it was plugged into the same power strip. This is an old power strip and the on/off indicator does not work. I'll spare you the embarrassing details and future updates on this product. The fact is that everything is fine with the coffee machine. Tomorrow I will enjoy another cup of excellent coffee. Sorry for the stupid mistake.
