Dish Soap in Dish Soap

I'm trying to reduce plastic waste so I decided to try dish soap in a bar. But I am very disappointed with this product. It doesn't lather like regular soap, nor does it have the cleaning power of Bar Keepers Friend. The smell is unpleasant and leaves a strange film on my dishes; even after intensive rinsing. I had to redo the entire download. Overall it didn't work very well and actually gave me more work. If you're looking for a low-waste alternative to dishwashing, this isn't it.
