Review on Pullout Replacement Kitchen Faucets Beautiful by Jeff Leu

Great value but see installation notes

This is NOT a Moen hose but it is compatible. The hose differs slightly in that it has a smooth hose in a plastic braid, while the original Moen hose had a ribbed plastic hose in the braid. I believe the ribbed hose was the cause of my initial failure as the weight being clamped to retract the faucet head ruptured the hose underneath. Because of this difference, this new hose has a slightly smaller overall diameter (does not affect water flow). I had to use a few turns of tape just under the weight location because it would no longer securely clamp this new hose. I went around the hose three times and that was enough to keep the weight from sliding to the bottom of the "ring" when the hose was fully retracted. Note on charge placement. You need a weight on the "top" part. Hose, ie directly on a crane. If you don't secure the weight on that side of the hoop, it won't fully retract. It will make more sense when you install the hose. Also note that this hose DOES NOT include the 2 rubber O-rings which are REQUIRED to seal the faucet head. Do not throw away the old hose without first pulling it out. There is a small o-ring in the tap threads and a larger o-ring in the threaded end of the new hose. Use a toothpick or a small flathead screwdriver to pull it out. If they are not installed, the faucet head will leak badly when the faucet is opened. Overall, this hose was half the price of the original device. Let's see how long it lasts, I only have 3 years from the original.
