I'm old school - I still maintain my cars myself and know about car care and repairs. I've had an OBDII scanner for years and it has served me well, but is outdated and a bit unwieldy. Enter Udiag CR650. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical, but this scanner is compact, intuitive and affordable! I've included photos of the device and packaging (including screenshots) to give you an idea of why I'm impressed with this scanner. The scanner is about the size of two decks of cards next to a cord long enough to use the scanner while sitting in or standing by a car. The screen is clear and easy to read. Reading/clearing the fault code is easy and the freeze frame data shows the state of the vehicle's systems at the time the fault occurred. I also appreciate being able to view live data to diagnose issues that may be affecting my car's handling but not causing a code/light. There is also a feature that indicates that the vehicle is "ready" for an emissions test after a code reset! Keep in mind that this unit will not check for brake or seat belt problems, but will do an excellent job diagnosing an engine. Compact, simple and affordable - my number one choice for every day!
