Beautiful, breaks easily

One of these broke while I was holding it. NO pressure, nothing hurts, no wild temperature fluctuations. It just fell into three large pieces when I got it out of the closet. The second one has lasted a few months so far and I still enjoy using it. I wonder if a stemless version of this glass would be better?
