First of all, if you don't use sandpaper on a regular basis, whatever job or hobby you want to use it for, then this is the pack you'll likely come with hit a bulky pack of sandpaper. (I use "sandpaper" not "sandpaper".) There are 20 sheets per pack, which are slightly larger than regular notepad paper. For a one-off job, consider a smaller pack or a combination pack with multiple grit levels. The paper itself - I would recommend it. A 400 grit, while nowhere near "best," provides a very smooth finish for many wood products. It's definitely too good for any kind of paint or varnish/stain removal (it clogs if you try; use 120-200 grit for that). doesn't fall apart like cheap stuff. I use this as step 2 to refinish the table and it does a good job. The final cut will likely be in the 600-800 grit range. Good quality paper and good value (currently around $14).
