The rug is of excellent quality and looks very attractive in the entryway of my kitchen. I prefer fabric pipes over black rubber pipes indoors as it looks less industrial. If you look closely, you'll notice this rug at MANY office entrances. I should have bought it a long time ago because its 1.5m length gives us enough room to get in and wipe/take off dirty wet shoes instead of wrestling on a standard sized mat. . This rug lies on a white tiled kitchen floor. It looks nice and not industrial like I was worried. Significantly fewer traces of dirt and perfect moisture transport from shoes. If a visitor enters and does not take off his shoes or boots, footprints and wet footprints are left behind. So it's not 100% effective, but still a huge improvement. I've taught everyone to take off their wet shoes or boots at the door, so let your inner lust for power play out and tell them to leave their shoes on until they're dry. I have found that the amount of dirt and sand in the house when vacuuming has been significantly reduced since there have been mats. . I also bought a smaller rug for my other entrance, which is the door inwards from the attached garage. This door also has a pet door. My bichon and fat cat use it to get to the fenced yard. I've found that the cat tends to run around the edges as much as possible (can't explain cats anyway). The dog, as usual, jumps over it and ignores it. I put an old bath mat on the other side of the pet door to try and soak up some before they get in. It definitely helps ME not digging through the dirt and sand out of the garage. I'm in New England and after last winter there's sand everywhere! This is a high quality rug that looks like it will last forever. I should have spent the extra money on the design since they are in the house. Be sure to consider the fabric edge versus the black rubber edge for internal placement. Worth every penny, wish I had bought them years ago.
