I've been using the C980 for a while and when the new C980 Pro came out I was excited to try it. I've been using the Logitech C930 for a while and have been looking for something less expensive for home use, especially since I've been on conference calls most of the day lately. All of my basic needs were met, namely: Brightness - it captures light better than the C930 and it's definitely the brightest webcam I've ever used. This is great as I keep my room pretty dark. (see picture above) - Built-in speaker - Didn't know I needed this until I got it. Since the Mac doesn't control audio output via HDMI, I needed something that could control the volume through my computer (this shows up as speaker output), as well as something that would have the audio coming from the same direction as my camera, ie. a much more natural experience when trying to face the camera. These speakers aren't super hi-fi speakers (<1" drivers, anyway), but they're significantly louder than my monitor speaker and very clear for conferencing. --Wide field of view. Similar to 930 (pictured above) -- great when there are multiple people at the table and everyone needs to be in frame (see image above) -- multiple mics -- captures all voices in the room with good background noise removal works very well and I've had several people asking me what I'm using. Great Price and good all round product.
