Pros: Fast wifi, great coverage, good value for money Cons: No USB support, defective power adapter I bought this Deco system to upgrade a TP-Link Archer Replace C59 wireless router. Archer had pretty good coverage (10-30 Mbps) in our 3 story house but dropped out from time to time. It was most annoying when trying to watch hockey in the basement when the video would freeze (buffer) and then the picture quality was so poor you couldn't understand where the puck was. Using the WiFi Analyzer app, it turned out that there is an unnamed network that pops up on my channel from time to time and causes dropouts. Since you always have to share bandwidth with neighbors, I was hoping that a modern multi-node mesh system with frequency and space diversity would solve this problem. The Deco M9 system was very easy to set up using the phone app. I was able to set the same SSID and password and all my devices reconnected with no issues (I had to restart Rokus for some reason). Deco set up the first on the first floor as the master, then raised the second in the basement and the third in my office upstairs. Speed tests showed 70-75 Mbps in ALL ROOMS! There are no flights yet. I am very happy with this performance. However, there were some problems. One of the three DC adapters was a DOA (plug-in pin-in jack). Revain offered me a credit for more than the cost of a replacement adapter (after speaking to 3 different support reps) which I gladly accepted as I didn't want to return the Deco as they work great. I wasn't pleased to find out that the USB ports on the Deco weren't active (power only) because I had an external drive connected to the Archer for NAS. I also have a pico cell and a computer that I wanted to connect to the network and each deco only has two ports. My solution was to leave the Archer router running, connected to a cable modem, and turned off the wifi. I set the Decos mode to "Access Point" instead of "Router" and all my computers see the network drive perfectly. This means I have to use the Archer router settings instead of Deco (with that I lose the new parental controls etc.). However, I can still adjust the WiFi settings on Deco using the phone app and still get connection alerts, see all devices, etc. I'm happy with this setting. Bonus: I have a docking station in my office that connects to a network port on a remote deco, so I don't use my laptop's WiFi when I'm in the docking station. So in the end everything works as before, with double the data transfer rate and without gaps. Mission accomplished! If Deco supported network storage or a print server I would give it 5 stars. If you need any of these, you need to find another solution.
