So the pictures I uploaded are two different teapots. The picture with the rust spot is of the first teapot after ONE single use. Returned and exchanged immediately. Replacement (second) kettle received today. Apparently it's new. However when I opened it there were spots on the kettle (mud? My friend said it was squished mosquitoes!) and there appear to be a few black spots/lines on the inner surface. I tried cleaning and the stains are still there. I'm not sure what to think or do right now. I'll give it a day or two to see if it gets worse. If this happens I will return it and will not try again! Update: keep this kettle. Works perfectly, no rust yet. Hooray!
