I've only had this item a few weeks. So far, so good. The only complaint I have so far is that you have to fill the kettle up to the "minimum capacity" line, which is around 12-16 oz. When I want to make a cup of coffee or tea, and since I only use bottled water, I use an entire bottle just to make a cup of tea. If you use tap water, this is not a problem. So the pictures I uploaded are two different teapots. The picture with the rust spot is of the first teapot after ONE single use. Returned and exchanged immediately. Replacement (second) kettle received today. Apparently it's new. However when I opened it there were spots on the kettle (mud? My friend said it was squished mosquitoes!) and there appear to be a few black spots/lines on the inner surface. I tried cleaning and the stains are still there. I'm not sure what to think or do right now…

I bought these to replace my old plastic kettle bushings. . . which urgently needs an update. It was a decent upgrade. I love the pan and temperature gauge, although it doesn't really seem to work.
