I've only had this item a few weeks. So far, so good. The only complaint I have so far is that you have to fill the kettle up to the "minimum capacity" line, which is around 12-16 oz. When I want to make a cup of coffee or tea, and since I only use bottled water, I use an entire bottle just to make a cup of tea. If you use tap water, this is not a problem. However, this kettle is easy to use. Automatically turns off when the water starts to boil. It takes about 4-5 minutes to boil a full kettle of water. If you only fill up to the "minimum fill" line, it will cook in about 3 minutes. As long as everyone is happy.
