It's OK - discard the mounting screws.
Mounting screws broke almost immediately and went into softwood studs despite drilling good pilot holes. I didn't have a spare so I had to leave a simple project unfinished for a day and then go through the whole process of drilling out the stripped screw. Otherwise this mount is fine. Seriously, are these screws pure nickel? I'm pretty sure a kid could bend them with pliers.
