Waste of time and landfill space

Product looks good and is well packaged, unfortunately it broke on first use. I was trying to use it on a Surface Pro to transfer files from an SD card to an external hard drive. Shortly after connecting the hard drive, the lention stopped working. The light was on, but nobody was home. Luckily I grabbed a spare SD card reader and managed to get something working. I would not rely on this unit for anything critical and always have a spare.
