I have an old MacBook Pro that I use for teaching. With hybrid learning, I needed additional USB ports to connect to other devices (dock camera, projector, camcorder, iPad) in the classroom, especially with an unstable WiFi connection. Works perfectly! I had no problems.

Because the Macbook Pro doesn't have docking stations, it can get cumbersome when you have to connect multiple cables - mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc. and the need to connect to both sides of the Mac. Now I connect my peripherals to Lention and Lention to my Mac. It looks elegant and cleared my desktop.

I now have 2 of these and am happy with them. Other 3.0 compatible brands I've tried before wouldn't let the 3.0 signal through even when connected to a 3.0 port. They work great. No more "this device works best when connected to port 3.0" Mistake. Would recommend and I will only buy their USB hubs. Because they work.

Update 1/2019: The SD card slot no longer works. It was a nice little device while it lasted. Unfortunately it no longer works for what we need. It didn't cost $$$! We ordered this when the SDHC card slot on our MacBook stopped working. Just plug it in and voila, done. The color and design looks elegant, each slot works well, it's useful when the card slots you have just aren't enough. Great little gadget, I would buy again.

Product looks good and is well packaged, unfortunately it broke on first use. I was trying to use it on a Surface Pro to transfer files from an SD card to an external hard drive. Shortly after connecting the hard drive, the lention stopped working. The light was on, but nobody was home. Luckily I grabbed a spare SD card reader and managed to get something working. I would not rely on this unit for anything critical and always have a spare.

I am using a USB hub. In general it works fine. Unfortunately the card reader ports work sporadically, i.e. when I insert two memory cards both don't work, only 1. Please troubleshoot with your similar products if this doesn't work. Second, the UBS ports don't grip flash drives as stubbornly - they do, frankly, dangle a bit.
