Okay, first of all everyone reading the comments is looking for that clear review, detailed review. Many people fear that they are making it "harder". I have a lot of experience with mechanics and a great knowledge of how the suspension should be. First off, the factory shocks aren't the best, but they work and offer a great, decent ride for basic use. The problem with Original Equipment shocks is that they overheat quickly and cause the usual rear triangle shake or side impact that everyone experiences. Your ride might seem smooth with the factory setting, but the reality is your wheels barely touch the ground on bumps, giving your truck a sloppy feel. Now these dampeners are very well made and for the price they are amazing day and night. Difference. Of course, there's better suspension, but this gives you the perfect balance of both worlds, smooth yet stiff enough to tow. Now that I'm talking hard, nothing can break your back or throw you in a car. It dampens and articulates the chassis geometry very well when driving at medium to high speeds. Trucks feel more plants and give you more confidence when maneuvering and give you great feedback on what the truck is doing on the road. Remember I live in California and our roads are terrible. Now at slower speeds below 10 mph you'll feel like it's stiffer, but in a good way. Now any shock absorber you buy won't change how you absorb bumps in the road at very low speeds because your springs or leaf springs will be less compressed. What it does is slow down the left-to-right sway when turning into dips or speed bumps, which gets you back up more quickly. These shock absorbers are great for the price and easy to install. If you're worried it's going to be difficult, don't do it. My trucks feel like a different car after installation. I have ridden them over 1200 miles and they are amazing. In some people, the back is not completely removed, but reduced by 80 percent, which is a great benefit. Be sure to tension the hitch to 66 ft-lbs when the truck is not jacked up. Overtightening the suspension will result in poor articulation and poor pivot point of the suspension. The rubber bushings still need some play to support the damper function.
