Too long nuts for accessories and parts

I bought these for my 2000 Honda CRV. I first tried mounting it on the right rear hub and tightened it to 80 ft.lbs. The damn nuts are too long and not aligned with the sealing surface! Does anyone know where to buy shorter nuts?
