I like the design of this lantern. Easy to turn on, easy to remove, stable. But the build quality is not very good. It's cheap plastic with a backlight that's not really bright enough to be of much value. Although it can be seen in the dark, it doesn't offer any brightness to speak of. The packaging was lousy! I received the first two, one was crushed, the light was broken and had to be sent back. The one I received as a replacement had the tape peeling off the center of the box and the box was crushed. The problem is that the box is about 4x4x20? Therefore, any flexing of the box causes a lot of stress in the center of the box, and since it was long and narrow with little to no packaging, the person (or robot) wrapping the box cannot put any pressure on the center of the box Box. Cardboard to ensure the tape sticks properly.
