This front chain makes climbing easier. Situations where I lost my rhythm at the top of a climb with lots of roots often resulted in me getting off the bike. Now I have an easier time pedaling farther because the point of my stroke where I have the least leverage on the pedal is also where the front ring gives me the most leverage against the chain. I ended up switching from a 34 ton round chain to a 32 ton oval chain. If I had to redo it I would settle for 34t as the oval makes it easy. I found that 3rd gear now felt about the same as 1st gear before. I am using the rear of an X01 Eagle Boost and have 3mm offset. Fits great!
