Soft and good weight but be careful with the color transfer

This is my first time using this yarn. I usually use a different brand. However, it was one that was a specific color in the amount I needed. There are a few knots in the yarn itself that I had to work around, but other brands I've used also have knots so everything was on par. As a result, it was nice and warm due to the weight I made, plus it was soft. This is a gift so I don't know if it will roll or how long it will last in terms of wear and tear. What worries me is that I'm using a crochet hook with a soft, ergonomic silicone handle. I've used it before with other yarns, other colors, no problem. My pen used to be purple. After using this yarn it now has black spots due to color transfer. I have attached a photo of my hook. It used to be bright purple. You can see the black on the edge where the metal meets the silicone. The rest of the hook is the tan from the yarn color (the flash may have made it difficult to show this clearly on the rest of the hook). I would still recommend this yarn, but with caution. There are tips on how to prevent things from spreading when you wash. I think these tips should be used when knitting products from this yarn.
