Review on LEDAUT T3 Titanium Turbo Blanket Thermal Cover With Fastener Springs For Enhanced Turbocharger Heat Shielding by Matthew Oumer

BAD REVIEWS ARE FALSE

Purchased this turbo blanket to find out the real scoop, because the reviews were so conflicting. Just as I thought, negative reviews do not picture this product correctly. To start with, I am not a self proclaimed mechanic, but a highly skilled and trained professional that work on some of the most expensive trucks, hot rods, and boats in my area, and I have been doing this for 38 years. I installed this turbo blanket on a 2004 2500HD GMC Sierra, after a full upgrade of the exhaust and intake system. This truck is producing North of 700 horsepower, 1,200 foot pounds of torque, and reaches 1,400 degrees EGTs during hard acceleration on hot days. You can touch the turbo blanket with your bare hands right after a hard pull without getting burned. This turbo blanket has been on this truck for over 1,000 miles now, with no sign of failure. One of the reviews I read stated the reason why some people claim failure is because they remove the blanket after it was exposed to the extreme heat of the turbine. This is absolutely correct, but a high end turbo blanket might tolerate early removal better. All turbo blankets will eventually fall apart upon removal. The other thing that will destroy a new turbo blanket is an exhaust leak on the turbine flange.
