Not as good as hoped

The good first! The box is solid, mostly functional, and not too flashy - the black-on-tan pattern doesn't scream "I'm here, look at me, not the turner," which is good because I use such a dispenser in the State Park demonstrating the skills of turning. Okay, now for the not so good stuff! I have to cut such a big piece off. Even after tearing down the 12 inch piece, I found you would probably need the entire lot for just one pen or a really small project. Maybe I got a bad batch, but even with softwood (cedar) no sand is visible after a few seconds. Since this happens with all types of grit I really don't think it's just a bad batch, it's bad glue etc. I've used all kinds of "Turner sandpaper" as well as some mesh types and I can't I don't remember ever using as many products as I have with this brand. I really can't recommend this brand at the moment. I decided to give it a try because it was about 20-25% cheaper than Abranet, but I think I use about 3 times more products from this brand, which negates any savings.

Pros
  • SAVE TIME: Rolls are cut into manageable 1" wide strips; The box contains 5 dosing slots. Simply tear off the desired length of sanding belt; Keeps things neat and tidy so you have less waste
Cons
  • Not sure
