Ideal for soldering for the first time!
The suction tool is very powerful and very easy to use. I find it much better to use than a wick. I don't know the wick so I don't know how to use it properly. But the wick I used separated too much to even pick up the solder. I was surprised how small it is per wick roll. It's not too small, but if you're an avid soldering iron you can probably use them for a month.
