Review on πŸš€ Enhanced Performance with 7510 01 Sandcat 18 Inch Pressure Control by Michael Zambrano

Belt stays in place, works well, dust collection is inferior

Advantages:1. Abrasive belt stays in place2. Fairly quiet 3. Low cost Cons: 1. The dust collector works best when connected to a vacuum system. Otherwise, expect half the sawdust to be in the collection chamber and half scattered everywhere. Conclusion: I needed an inexpensive belt sander as I work with the occasional orbital sander most of the time and only need a belt sander occasionally. Would love to have a porter cable, but it's hard to spend $100 or more on a tool every once in a while. This grinder from Skil is a good alternative to buying Harbor Fright. The mill works fine. The strap stays in place and doesn't wobble. It's relatively quiet, and when connected to my store's dust collection system, the dust collector does a good job of removing more than half of the sawdust. By simply using the included collector, I found that there was more sawdust on the work surface than in the canister. The standard 1 1/4 adapter for a shop vacuum is ideal for a dust bag. It's relatively light, so easy to maneuver, but still heavy enough to grind under its own weight. In cases where I need to sand a large area quickly, this belt sander fills a niche perfectly.

Pros
  • Pressure control technology warns user of excessive pressure
Cons
  • Very expensive
