Advantages:1. Abrasive belt stays in place2. Fairly quiet 3. Low cost Cons: 1. The dust collector works best when connected to a vacuum system. Otherwise, expect half the sawdust to be in the collection chamber and half scattered everywhere. Conclusion: I needed an inexpensive belt sander as I work with the occasional orbital sander most of the time and only need a belt sander occasionally. Would love to have a porter cable, but it's hard to spend $100 or more on a tool every once in a whileβ¦
