I bought this thermometer a few years ago and it initially worked great and was everything I was looking for in a BBQ thermometer. For the past 6 months or so he's been behaving. First, it just turned off when reading, or was difficult to turn on (a minor annoyance). The screen then started flicking on and off quickly when you tried to use it, eventually working after unplugging and reinserting the battery a couple of times (big annoyance). Now this thing almost never works - it's hard to turn on and often doesn't work long enough to be used. I've of course replaced the battery with a new one more than once, but that's not a problem as the behavior remains the same. It looks like something is wrong with the device inside. I emailed customer service and within hours received a response from Sarah apologizing for the issue and asking me to confirm my home address for a replacement unit. I did it and thought: SUPER. That's great! NOT RIGHT. It's been 3 months and nothing. I sent two additional status request emails but they were all ignored. I don't write negative reviews, but I don't condone liars and false advertising either. So buy at your own risk because if you run into problems you may not be able to get this company to honor their warranty. Too bad.
