This item is a must-have for reef aquariums. This gives you the ability to control heating and cooling. In a reef aquarium I used both plugs on a squid for heating and cooling. Aquarium heater for heating and simple fan for cooling. The controller allows me to turn the heater and fan on and off with different degrees of deflection. Helps maintain the stability and prosperity of the aquarium. This device is improved over the standard device with a detachable aquarium safety sensor. The probe of the standard devices is made of metal. Overall excellent quality for the price and a must have for reef aquariums that don't use expensive coolers.
