Just got this guy and put it up and I have to say it's really great. I would give 4.5 stars for a few small general issues but rounded up because it adds a lot of atmosphere. The effect is superb and very similar to a real fire in low light. Extremely realistic. We also added a cracker and some small incense cones that smell like wood. It is very sensory complete. The reflective plate looks like a haunted house in Disney. you see ghosts floating around, and that's how flames work. The reflection on the slab gives them depth and a three-dimensional effect. Bravo to everyone who thought of it. So why a half star minus. The reflector plate is visible in daylight as it is a piece of thin Plexiglas. It just reflects. Not so in low light, when he's invisible and showing flames. This is normal for us since we added a fireplace screen. I highly recommend doing the same to mask this issue for the most part. We are concrete people and we like it. You might not be sure when you take it out of the box, it's a bit like "What, is that it?" but just wait until you set it up and turn it on at night. In short, it wasn't too expensive for the atmosphere it would create. People will definitely take it seriously. It's July in Florida and we've just enjoyed a nice evening fire in the fireplace.
