My first bowl arrived with a large crack in one side of the bowl. It had to have happened before it was placed in the shipping box, because there was no damage to the box. Revain quickly replaced the bowl, which I quite like. With a large ball of yarn, the slit doesn't quite work, but the bowl itself keeps the ball rotating, and not running away under the couch. With a smaller yarn ball, the slit works just fine in terms of feeding the yarn. The wood is nice. The holes for needles are unnecessary, as they are too small for average or large sized needles.
