Breaks if you look at it funny

First, I received a broken bowl. They do a terrible job of packing it, no wonder so many reviews mention broken bowls. So I had to make a trip to the Revain return center to return it to them to get a new one. I should have gotten the refund I was considering instead of another bowl.I received the second bowl, which wasn’t as nice looking as the first bowl would have been if it hadn’t been broken. The color was very inconsistent, dark in, dark here, light there. It had spots in the bottom where

Pros
  • 12 ounces
Cons
  • The bowl may not be completely finished, leaving rough or uneven spots

Beautiful but rough inside

The wood and finish are beautiful. The size is perfect too. Took off 1 star because the inside of the swirl where your yarn goes through is rough. It can snag your yarn.

Pros
  • ❤ The wooden yarn bowl is made of quality wood and has been finely processed, with a glossy smooth finish and no rough edges, which can protect your yarn. NOTE: The product is made of wood, the texture of each product will be little different from the picture. Pictures are for reference only, please refer to the actual product.
Cons
  • Could be too fragile for regular use

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Lightweight for my opinion

The swirling hole where the yarn comes out is sharp edges and fuzzy, my yarn tend to stick on it, and it was a small ball of yarn, it moves the whole bowl when I pull the yarn.Super annoying to use, the bottom of inside bowl has clear machine grind pattern, which also not smooth, very disappointed.I found Jo Ann and Michael’s has same bowl. The store one is much heavier and glazed smooth everywhere, super defined and round edges on the hole as well. I returned it immediately and regretted first

Pros
  • I gave this as a gift and it was well received. It is a pretty bowl, on the small side.
Cons
  • The product may not be durable enough to last long

Smaller than expected

I like the idea of finding a solution to end yarn knotting together. From the picture on the ad, they had two balls of yarn In my picture I only had half of a yarn ball so it does not hold as much as I thought it would. There are 4 holes for the yarn to go through to have different colors come out at the same time. I will check back later to see if that is even possible to have multiple balls of yarn at the same time. Hopefully the pics help people with actual scale.

Pros
  • ❤PORTABLE - can be easily carried around so that you can knit wherever and whenever you choose. It's light enough to easily fit into your project bag so you can use it on the go.
Cons
  • The bowl may warp or crack over time

Needs some Improvement

This bowl is still smaller than expected, I did know it would be on the smaller side, but honestly for the amount you’re paying this size is a little too small. the color is amazing and the design is beautiful, but the area where the year is supposed to pass through was rough and including inside the rim; a little sand paper did the trick, works beautifully with the yarn. It would be a beautiful gift, but you would need to make sure it’s not rough like before.

Pros
  • Stylish wine red color
Cons
  • The bowl may not be able to hold a full skein of certain types of yarn

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Nice for holding yarn, not for using.

The bowl is smaller than i expected, you're only really going to be able to hold 1-2 full yarn balls at a time, it would only hold small scrap balls. Thats on me for not really reading dimensions before buying, but my main complaint is that the spiral is cut very roughly and not sanded, so its practically unusable to hold yarn while working, it constantly snags. I can sand the edges, but then i'm going to be sanding the finish off the bowl.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • Could be too small to accommodate multiple skeins of yarn at once

The bowl is lovely. I wish that it didn't have the yarn groove. I can put a cake in it and pull from the top but occasionally, the yarn gets caught in the groove intended for yarn and it doesn't work well at all. The edges of the groove are rough and the yarn tugs and gets frayed. I'll need to sand the edges before I use it again.

Pros
  • I love my yarn bowl!
Cons
  • Might be prone to staining from certain types of yarn dyes

Pretty and functional

I’m pleased with this bowl. I’ve even used it i the floorboard to knit when traveling. The inly question mark for me is the cut out part isn’t finished so I have not put my yarn through it. I’m concerned it might snag or grab my yarn. Please understand I’m not saying it WILL do that, it’s just a concern so I haven’t tried it. Having said that, I used this product on a daily basis and will probably be buying another one or two for stranded or fair isle knitting.

Pros
  • Beautifully crafted from high-quality rosewood
Cons
  • Could be difficult to transport without damaging the bowl

Helps me knit best in my review

My first bowl arrived with a large crack in one side of the bowl. It had to have happened before it was placed in the shipping box, because there was no damage to the box. Revain quickly replaced the bowl, which I quite like. With a large ball of yarn, the slit doesn't quite work, but the bowl itself keeps the ball rotating, and not running away under the couch. With a smaller yarn ball, the slit works just fine in terms of feeding the yarn. The wood is nice. The holes for needles are…

Pros
  • Reduces wrist fatigue and strain
Cons
  • Could be difficult to use with double-pointed needles

Even more beautiful in person, very well made!

I absolutely love this yarn bowl. It's so beautiful, smooth edges pretty grain on the Rosewood. I tried different brands of cake yarns, including one I wound from a hank and ball winder and each one fit inside the bowl without issue. It arrived quickly and was packaged in a great box that if you want to give as a gift would be perfect!Extremely happy, will definitely buy from them again!

Pros
  • No more wasted or tangled yarn
Cons
  • The bowl may not be suitable for certain types of yarn fibers

Nice handsome well made bowl.

Great gift for my teenager crochet(Er). She had put it on her wish list and when she opened it she seemed quite surprised by the quality. It is a very handsome bowl and a nice size. Made her birthday special.

Pros
  • Allows smooth movement of yarn without tearing or snagging
Cons
  • The bowl may not hold up well against pets or small children

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Raw edges, not finished as shown in picture

The edges where the yarn passes through were rough and were not finished edges as advertised. I had to smooth it with sand paper as the yarn kept snagging.

Pros
  • Smooth for easy movement and a good size.
Cons
  • The quality of the craftsmanship may vary between individual bowls

Love this yarn bowl!

Love it! My ball of yarn would always roll off the couch while I crocheted. I’m no spring chicken AND I have two cats! I also love that I can use it to keep track of my needles! This bowl is very handy! Not to mention the beauty of it! Oh it is crafted very well!

Pros
  • Me like this. Wife like this too :)
Cons
  • the picture made it look much bigger.

Yarn bowl a piece of junk.

It's raw where the yarn ride on. It snags the yarn. The bowl looks like it was never finished. I would never buy this bowl again. My husband said he could finished it.😡😣

Pros
  • I got it as part of a Christmas gift for my granddaughter - everything she needs to learn how to knit.
Cons
  • The holes in the bowl may be too small for larger needles or crochet hooks

Great, Solid craftsmanship for the price

Looked great and in good condition. Just like photo online. It's big enough for a yarn ball. Feels solid. That's my review!

Pros
  • Was as advertised.
Cons
  • Snags yarn very rough

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Needs sanding good for me

Bowl is nice, but the inside edges of the yarn feeder needed to be sanded to keep it from snagging the yarn.so it it's now raw wood instead of being pretty and stained on the inside feeder cut.

Pros
  • Versatile and multipurpose use
Cons
  • The bowl may not be a convenient size or shape for storing with other knitting or crochet supplies

A little rough best in my review

Gave this to my wife. The inside of the spiral is a little rough and not sanded enough. This causes the yarn to snag a little. Wife mostly uses it without going through the spiral to at least keep her yarn from rolling around all over the place as she crochets.

Pros
  • Perfect for both beginners and experienced knitters/crocheters
Cons
  • The bowl may not be aesthetically pleasing to everyone

Bowl was broken on both orders

Unfortunately, the bowl arrived broken. The seller very quickly replaced it. However the replacement bowl came broken, as well. Loved the look but will not be reordering. The color was not correct either.

Pros
  • Pretty bowl, smooth finish so yard doesn't snag. Very easy to use.
Cons
  • The price point may be too high for some consumers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Beautiful and works well

Works well and as intended. Just needs another quick sanding with a finer grit sandpaper if you are using a fine or fuzzy yarn. Works well with cotton yarn.Probably won’t work well with giant yarns. Doesn’t work well with yarns on a cone.

Pros
  • Just a little on the small side. Otherwise a very nice piece
Cons
  • I have now ordered two of these bowls and they have each come broken in the same place. Poor quality

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very poor finish: my feedback

Whomever made this didn't take the time to sand it afterwards. Yarn will get caught on this poor of a finish. I suppose I got what I paid for since it was the cheapest available. I will have to sand this myself before I can use it.

Pros
  • 7.3 x 6.8 x 3.4 inches
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for use while traveling
