Not liking the taste of steel and silicone straws and also wanting to reduce my plastic consumption, I tried these. I found this paper straw to be much more durable than the paper straws I was offered at fast food places, plus it has almost no paper taste. I could use and refill one in my Crystal Light for hours, and it even withstood my hot tea well enough for two large, cozy cups to be enjoyed. You can't expect paper to perform like traditional plastic, but I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this straw performs.
