Not sure what the rating is asking when I am asked to rate "thickness"? Lol is that a flashlight? I don't know what this question asks. but this light does NOT work to see urine. That's what I got it for, to see where my new pup kept urinating on the carpet and it showed no pee at all, old or new (trust me, old and new stains keep popping up). Potty training didn't go well. Lol but it was a nice light for just looking at things in the dark! Haha cool if you just use it to see the white fibers in the carpet or make your room look like black light and all white glow instead of pee.
