Review on BoxWave TinyMount Windshield Adjustable Smartphones by Tio Kotaki

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Sleek little mount, can be great.

I just received the BoxWave TinyMount. From the assembly point of view, this mount is way better than the ones I've tried from Fry's or Best Buy. The first thing that struck me is that the suction cup seems to be very flat, there is a locking mount that you rotate when you place the mount on a flat surface (like the windshield or the included flat stand adapter). I didn't need to use the stand as I already have a flat surface to use the TinyMount. At first it didn't seem like it would stick, but I just put a few drops of water on the suction cup and tried to attach the mount and it was firm. I drive trucks and even on bumpy roads this device holds up with no problems. I love how easy it is to install my iPhone and how well it holds up. If anything changes I'll come back to update my review but for now it's fantastic and just what I was looking for. Adjusting the angles is so easy with this mount that it easily faces you. I contacted the seller through Amazon and they sent me a label to mail the broken mount back and they refunded my money. how did it break It was a very hot weekend, on Monday I got in the car and tried to spread the handles apart to fit the phone and the tiny neck leading to the base broke with almost no effort. I got my money back and you may need to remove this mount from your car on a hot day. I have since bought a new car mount from a local chain manufacturer: ADURO, (u-touch) now renamed u-grip. But what I like is that I've had the new mount for over a month and it's been really positive. It's not as compact as a boxwave, but it has one feature: side buttons that slightly elongate the hands holding your phone for quick and easy detachment. You can put your phone in place, there is a button that holds the phone in place well. I think if Boxwave added something like this I might buy another product, especially as they were kind enough to refund my money if I had a product that didn't survive.
