Review on πŸ”’ Dorman 746-603 Front Driver Side Door Lock Actuator Motor, Black, for Toyota Models by Justin Jeppi

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for Highlanders in 2006!

I would give 5 stars if I knew it would last for many years but as it was only fitted on August 1st 2015 I can't say for sure. The part will fit in the door of both the 2006 Highlander DRIVER and the RAV4 it is advertised to fit as detailed in the link below. . highlanders. If the lock drive is broken, you don't have to pay for a more expensive kit. Here are the symptoms I had that indicated a failed actuator and NOT something else: - The door could still be locked and unlocked without error - The actuator worked 10% of the time (pressed the lock/unlock button many times ) - The door could still be locked/unlocked using the mechanical switch (small red tab in the car) - Other doors in the car would be locked and unlocked without using the driver's door controls (except for the control board/switch) and remote control could. You do NOT need a part from a Toyota dealer - the car is DRM-free (or this part is compliant). However, make sure it is connected properly otherwise the car may start acting strangely. When connected incorrectly, I saw the machine lock and unlock endlessly. Please note that the car doors will NOT lock when the doors are open and the key is in the ignition (usually for testing purposes). If you push mechanical levers on the door like my mechanic did, the car's computer will NOT believe the door is closed and a lock will unlock instantly - there is a physical connection that needs to be closed for that to happen Auto believes that every door is open. locked. So if you see this after installation, don't despair - everything works as intended. Close the door and make sure the car doesn't think the doors are open and try again.

Pros
