Not sure if Xbox One S or HDMI cable is faulty so both are flagged for it. I have a 4K HDR TV that I absolutely love and have always loved the features it has. I've been having issues with this pair for quite some time, so I'm ready to buy a new cable and console. My Xbox should be able to detect which cable and TV are connected and adjust the picture accordingly. With this cable, however, the resolution is set to 540p. This is a very small, very low resolution image that looks terrible on a 65-inch 4K TV. This is VERY rare, but there is no definitive way to fix it no matter how I set my console or TV settings. Using this cable on a separate 4K TV, I get the same effect, but it disappears on a standard 1080 TV. Another HDMI cable couldn't produce the same results, but at the same time it wasn't rated for 4K, so I would do say that the test results are inconclusive. Another issue is that sometimes the audio just doesn't work. I checked every other cable from my Xbox to my TV to my soundbar. The optical cable has been checked, the power cables are fine, all other ports are fine, the only thing I couldn't find out for sure was the problem in the HDMI cable or in the port, since I didn't have any other HDMI connected at the time. All these problems were isolated cases and it was really difficult to replicate them on purpose, but they're really annoying and I still can't tell if it's a console, a port on a console, or an HDMI cable. It could be any of them, but right now my money is on the cable. They're cheap enough so I'll just try a different one, but be aware it may not work as well with the Xbox One S.
