Review on AT 438 Internet Call Alert by Amanda Vosten

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Works, but there are problems!

The device has some nice features. When you're online, the right side of the device will flash bright green and emit a warning tone to get your attention when you're outside the room. Works like any other callerid device. THIS. When you receive a call, you can redial it by pressing the button. When you're online and an alarm sounds, simply pick up the handset connected to the device and press the call waiting button. You can talk as much as your modem allows (mine takes about 10-15 seconds), then hang up and you're still online. There are 4 ports (line, telephone, computer and fax) on the back of the device. The annoying thing is that every now and then it clicks and I lose my internet connection for about 10 seconds. I enjoy playing online poker and sometimes it causes me to fold my hands because I have a time out in the game. This is a little annoying as it can happen every 5-10 minutes or not at all. I called AT&T and asked them if this was normal and they said I had a defective unit. I brought it back to the store where I bought it. off and got a new one. I had the same problem with the new one. I think this is a block error.
