I don't want to be without it

Instead of running two phone lines into my house, one for my phone and one for my computer, I use Internet call notification. I can be on the internet and not miss a single incoming call. Internet Call Alert beeps and alerts me to an incoming call and gives me the caller's name and number. If it's an important call, I can hit the call waiting button, answer the call, and talk for a minute without disconnecting from the internet. If it's not an important call, I can disconnect the internet and…

Pros
  • Audible and visual call notification
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Works perfect for me.

Paid under $20 and works great for what I bought it for. I have a Polycom phone that doesn't support call waiting, which means I can't see who's trying to call my second line during a conference call. Attached AT&T 438 to Polycom, everything works fine. The AT&T device displays caller ID information for number and name, and has a handy button to toggle between two calls - another issue that has been resolved, as Polycom basically freezes when I try to switch lines. After all, numbers are saved…

Pros
  • display and dial; Time/Date Stamp
Cons
  • Legacy Model

Works, but there are problems!

The device has some nice features. When you're online, the right side of the device will flash bright green and emit a warning tone to get your attention when you're outside the room. Works like any other callerid device. THIS. When you receive a call, you can redial it by pressing the button. When you're online and an alarm sounds, simply pick up the handset connected to the device and press the call waiting button. You can talk as much as your modem allows (mine takes about 10-15 seconds)…

Pros
  • Only 1 phone line required
Cons
  • Some disadvantages

I dared a second try!

I purchased this item from Wal-Mart for $35 2 weeks ago but have only had it a few days. When I first connected the box to my computer, it had an expandable wireless phone system attached to it. The box did what was claimed, but when I used one of my cordless phones to make a voice call, no caller ID/call waiting information was displayed. Instead it was displayed on a box at the top next to my computer. Since I was at home during the day (wedding for telemarketers), that didn't work. I had a…

  • Caller ID/Call Waiting, 90 call memory
