Review on Ubiquiti Unifi Ap AC Lite UAPACLITE5US by David Perez

I've been using them for a year now and bought a 5 pack and then another for my home. I've had 2 per tier and they provide good coverage when placed correctly. Our house is built of cement and steel, not wood, so without proper planning, the signal will quickly degrade and be swallowed up by steel. Ubiquiti was quick to respond and upon receipt of the faulty device shipped a new device in brand new packaging so I received a new device with all accessories (PoE injector, wall mount faceplate and manual) which is great in case I need an injector later need (I did this when I placed it in a place where there is no PoE ethernet). The difference between the Lite and Pro models is that they have 2x2 Multi-Input, Multi-Output (MIMO) antennas. Pro 3x3 and AC HD 5x5. You only need more antennas if you're connecting that many clients at once, and a large number of 5GHz and 2.4GHz clients (unless you're forcing a specific signal). I have enabled 2.4 and 5GHz mixing on my access points and enabled advanced options. to push/guide clients to 5GHz for higher throughput, however the 5GHz signal degrades quickly and the AP will automatically switch the user to 2.4GHz. You can fine-tune the thresholds to prevent switching between areas. Managing home connectivity with these UniFi hotspots and the free Ubiquiti controller software makes my life easier. Everything is in a single interface and just a click away. I should mention that I'm running their controller software on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B with a small SD card. Make sure you are using Java version 8 and not 7. Version 7 made the software too slow and caused many timeouts.
