This is the digital thermometer I think we'll be using the most. We tested several side by side and this one works exactly as advertised. You have the choice of using it directly on the problem, or using an external probe on a wire that can reach the meat on the grill as long as the thermometer is on the nearby surface. It indicates when the desired temperature has been reached and can be used in various cooking scenarios. The instructions are a little skimpy and I had a hard time following them.
