After seasoning as indicated, the board split.

This is a gift for my son. He seasoned the cutting board and washed it as instructed. He hasn't even used it and it's cracked or splintered. Wanted to return it but seems to think he can fix it. I paid $39.99 for what needs fixing before I even use it. However, I have to say that this is a thick board and he liked the design, which is partly why he doesn't want to return it.
