First of all I'm glad this dipstick exists. Thanks seller! There aren't many ways to check the transmission oil on these Chrysler products. The probe will hang in the pipe when you try to pull it out! The probe is always released with little effort. However, it's annoying. I'm afraid the plastic tip will fall off and stay in the bowl (as happened to another reviewer). I will be using this dipstick to regularly check the transmission fluid level on my 2014 Charger R/T. I will NOT keep this stick installed forever. The factory pipe cap works fine, so I'll leave it installed while I ride. I don't like the idea of that questionable "down there" plastic tip when I'm driving. As many others have rightly pointed out, the black tip is difficult to read. I've found that it's much easier to see the level if you put the tip on the napkin. A paper towel will do, but a facial tissue works best. I've added two images to illustrate the point. As for the protruding probe - I tried beveling the top of the plastic 1/8" to allow the probe to slide out of the pipe. I don't think the bevel helped. Not sure why the dipstick sticks Will change the fluid soon and will update you (with pics) when I find out why the dipstick is sticking. CHECKING GEAR LEVEL ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WORK IN NEUTRAL Fluid pump not working in parking lot NEUTRAL! NEUTRAL! NEUTRAL !(do not park).The picture shows a plastic guide.The picture does not show the rough edges of the metal fill tube over the plastic guide.There is a gap of about 2" between the top of the plastic guide and the beginning of a metal fill tube,hanging there a plastic tip. Of course there is a cure for this. My plastic end of the dipstick seems securely in place. Just for goodness To be sure my transmit level was correct, I bought one of those "all metal" gauges with millimeter markings and temperature graph. Comparative readings using dipsticks with a transmission at 160 degrees Fahrenheit were "close enough." Any stick would give a fairly accurate reading.
