These are wooden poles. I thought they were too big for my canaries but they love them. The beauty of getting 5 at once is that you can position them differently to give them different ways of standing or jumping. I've also used a few for support and one for the 'porch' as one of the birds finds the cage door difficult. I also like that they are short as they fit more easily in a cage that already has other stuff in it.
