Review on JIANFA Clay Bar Mitt: Ultimate AutoScrub Wash Mitt for Spotless Automotive Detailing - Fine Grade, 1 Piece Blue Towel Clay Bar Alternative by James Stjames

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Replaces thin/light clay in almost every situation

Now using my second of these "Clay Bar Glove" and have used several other brands in the past The local supplier didn't sell them anymore so I had to jump on Revain to find a quick replacement. It looks like another brand our supplier carried but it's half the price. I use it in the wash hall with a rather slippery detergent soap (rare and a special fat for clay) after washing the surface. This is not very good for very heavy spraying of paint but great for removing normal build up etc from the paint surface. Other gauntlets labeled "Medium" or "Heavy" will handle these more frustrating situations better. I prefer a glove over a towel because it's easier to grip and holds more water/soap solution. My hands are too big to fit in, but it's still easier to hold than a towel. I use it an average of 8-10 cars a week, although sometimes not every inch of the exterior, which is true. To save time. I change them when the polymer surface becomes glossy smooth after drying, which typically occurs every 30-45 days of use (50-60 vehicles on average). Compared to clay, this is a cost savings in itself. To save time? It covers more surface area with each hit than a clay bar, requires no kneading, and is stable over a wide temperature range. The only cleaning it requires is a quick rinse under running water or a dip in a bucket of cleaning solution. I get this part of the job done faster and with less physical strain. Mold. It doesn't need a container as it doesn't dry out or accumulate dirt. A suggestion seldom mentioned on clay glove packaging: For the first few wipes/surface wipes, if they're brand new, do it on glass, not paint. as initial use leaves darker stains that sometimes require a stronger soap to remove. Easier to clean from glass and leaves no residue.
