So does different speaker cable really matter? In this case YES! I replaced the Rocketfish 16 Gauge Oxygen Free Copper - 7 foot cables with these Blue Jeans Cable Ten 8 foot cables. At higher volumes, the sound difference is very clear. There is less distortion. Music sounds clearer. The same amp and speakers can play louder and sound better. I was concerned they would be too thick, but as you can see from the picture they are not that different from 16 AWG copper wire. Another feature that I really like is the blocking. banana plug. I think they provide a much better connection to the amp and speakers. I attribute most of the sound improvement to the 10's lower impedance versus the 16, but a better connection wouldn't hurt. I've spent a lot more on speaker wire in the past, but the returns are diminishing. These are great cables that deliver great sound.
