Pretty but impractical
The salt and pepper shakers are beautiful but I didn't realize the lid couldn't be screwed on. It has a small rubber ring in the top that is used to hold it in place. This makes it difficult to hold onto the lid as the rubber ring can fall into the lid or cause the lid to bounce off the shaker. I will be using them more for looks than for use as a salt and pepper shaker.
